For my final project, I will be exploring the Disney Corporation and a myriad of the movies, TV shows, and characters created by them.
Disney plays a major role in our culture. Not only does it reflect our values and beliefs, it effects and changes them. I am planning on examining some of Walt Disney’s first cartoons and films and then moving my way through time up until the present in order to examine how our culture has changed through time.
Specifically, I want to examine aspects of prejudice and stereotyping that are present and how they have changed throughout time. I plan on deconstructing each cartoon and film in order to uncover its underlying meaning, motive, and what it hides and reflects.
